A delightful full day shore excursion which captures the highlights of Dublin and the picturesque, monastic settlement of Glendalough. This tour includes a walking history tour of the Easter Rising, St Stephens Green, Grafton Street, and a panoramic drive through Dublin city including Phoenix Park.
In central Dublin, the tour disembarks for a walking historical tour of the Easter Rising, with an additional hour to grab lunch near Grafton Street and explore the peaceful serenity of St Stephens Green before heading to Glendalough. At Glendalough, there is 1.5 hours to look around the visitor center and explore the round tower and ruins of the monastic settlement and lower lake.
The panoramic city tour includes:
- St Stephens Green
- Grafton Street
- St. Patrick's Cathedral and Christ Church
- Phoenix Park (where Pope John Paul II celebrated mass with around 1.2 million people)
- The residences of the President of Ireland and the American Ambassador to Ireland
- O'Connell Street and the GPO, focus of the Easter Rising in 1916
After the tour, you'll be taken back to the Dublin cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ship's departure.
This tour is organized as a shore excursion, although open to anyone wishing to join. Tour departs from and returns to Dun Laoghaire port.
