Celebrate Beltane at The Hill of Uisneach

The Hill of Uisneach , one of the most sacred and historic sanctuaries in the world is the location of the first great Beltane fire to be lit in Ireland.   In ancient times, all of Ireland would be dark on the eve of Beltane and when the great bonfire was lit on Uisneach Hill, it was visible to over a quarter of Ireland.  Then as the fires were seen from far away more fires would be lit on the the  surrounding hills,  and then an outer ring lit on the coasts.

The Beltane fire festival falls at the midpoint between the Spring equinox and Summer solstice.  This sacred fire awakens Mother Earth from her winter’s sleep and  celebrates the coming season of fertility.  This tradition has been continued in modern times with the Beltane Fire Celebration at Uisneach.

Uisneach is the burial site of  both the Earth Goddess Ériu & the Sun God Lugh. It is a special place to experience the festival celebrating the warming of the earth and the joining of the masculine and feminine.

Music, dancing, and magic.  Beltane is the perfect time to bring abundance into your life!
