When you only have enough time to see Dublin in a day, here are a few ideas that should give you a taste of Dublin's history, culture, and beauty.  There are plenty of things to see and do!

Founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, and one of the oldest universities in Ireland, Trinity College has a rich history and has produced many notable alumni, including writers such as Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett.  Spread over 47 acres the campus is a beautiful mix of modern and traditional architecture where you can walk around and admire the grandeur of its buildings and green spaces.

The one thing you will not want to miss is a visit to the stunning Old Library, home to the famous Book of Kells.  A famous manuscript containing the four Gospels of the New Testament, written in Latin and decorated with intricate illustrations, the Book of Kells is believed to have been created around 800 AD and is one of the most famous medieval manuscripts in the world. It is on display at the Old Library and visitors can view it in person.  Be advised that the Book of Kells is a very popular attraction and pre-booking your visit is a must, specially during the busy summer season.

The largest cathedral in Ireland, and one of the most iconic landmarks in the city, the St. Patrick's cathedral has been a place of worship for over 800 years and is steeped in a rich history that is sure to fascinate visitors. The cathedral's impressive Gothic architecture is sure to leave a lasting impression, with its soaring arches, intricate carvings, and stunning stained-glass windows. The interior is equally impressive, with ornate decorations and memorials, including the grave of Jonathan Swift, the author of Gulliver's Travels. Phoenix Park

As one of the largest enclosed parks in Europe, Phoenix Park, covering over 1,700 acres, is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, as well as several attractions, such as Dublin Zoo, Áras an Uachtaráin (the residence of the President of Ireland), and the Victorian People's Flower Gardens. Visitors can take a stroll or cycle along the park's many winding paths, enjoy a picnic on the grass, or simply relax and take in the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings. With so much to see and do, a visit to Phoenix Park is an ideal way to spend a relaxing day in Dublin.  With a bit of luck, you might even spot the herd of deer who live in the park!

Grafton Street

This is one of Dublin's main shopping streets, with a mix of high-end shops, department stores, and street performers. It's a great place to shop, pick up souvenirs or enjoy a pint or a cup of coffee and people-watch.

Of course, with only one day, it's impossible to see everything that Dublin has to offer, and these are only a few ideas to get you started.
